BALTIMORE - Suzi Lawrence,
CRMS of MGIC in Ellicott City was
elected and installed as the new volunteer
president of the Maryland Association of Mortgage
Brokers during ceremonies at the Center Club
in Baltimore last night. She succeeds Ralph
Dawson, owner of RAM Financial
in Largo, as the leader of the 1,250-member
nonprofit professional organization.
Lawrence
has been instrumental in strengthening and
expanding MAMP's continuting education programs
in anticipation of prelicensing requirements
for loan originators in Maryland.
In
addition to Lawrence, the members of MAMP
elected and installed Larry
Pendleton of Legend Mortgage in
Olney as their new president-elect and Charles
DiPino, Jr. of Universal Trust
Mortgage Corp. in northwest Baltimore.
Glen
Cook
of National City Home Equity in Gaithersburg
was elected and installed as secretary and
Joseph M. Brown,
Jr., CRMS of Premier Equity Mortgage
in Randallstown was elected and installed
to a continuing term as treasurer.
Elected
to the two-year terms on the associations
board of directors were: Brooks
Bosley of Washington Mutual in
Centreville, Jacki
Channer of Gateway Mortgage Services
in Largo, and Charles
Reid, III of Molton, Allen &
Williams Mortgage Co. in Fairfax, Va.
Continuing
on the MAMP Board are: Hunter
Bloch of Annapolis First Mortgage
in Hanover and Richard
Muller of Northstar Mortgage in
Columbia.
Thomas
C. Shaner, CAE
and Traci Snyder
of The Joseph E. Shaner Co. in Baltimore will
continue as MAMPs executive director
and associate executive director, respectively.
The
induction of officers took place on the first
day of the 2005 MAMP Convention for which
more than 1,000 mortgage professionals and
affiliates were in attendance. MAMP leaders
are already at work planning the 2006 MAMP
Annual Convention and Exposition. For further
