BALTIMORE - Larry
Pendleton of Legend Mortgage Corp.
in Olney was presented the Maryland
Association of Mortgage Brokers (MAMB) Broker
of the Year Award On March 2 during
ceremonies at the Center Club in Baltimore.
Pendleton
currently serves as president of the 1,300-member
MAMB and has been instrumental in the associations
efforts to expand educational opportunities
for mortgage brokers having served on the
association's legislative and education committees.
He was also recognized for his excellent leadership
having been very active on the MAMB Board
of Director and serving the association in
the capacities of vice president, president-elect
and now as president.
In
addition to honoring Pendleton, MAMB
President Suzi Lawrence of MGIC
in Ellicott City presented her Presidents
Award to
Division
of Finance Regulation Deputy Director George
Kinsel. Presented at the
President's discretion, Lawrence recognized
Kinsel for his commitment to advancing education
in the mortgage industry.
MAMB
presented Rich Muller
of Northstar Mortgage its Georgia
S. Crawford Community Service Award
in recognition of his tremendous volunteer
efforts in organizing MAMB's Childrens
Christmas Party project which is held each
year in cooperation with the Bethel Community
Outreach Center in West Baltimore. This wonderful
party brought the holiday spirit to over 400
financially disadvantaged children in Baltimore
city.

Charles Turnbaugh, were recognized with the
associations Legislative
Award in recognition of their efforts
associated with recent passage of state laws
requiring loan officer licensing.
Steve
Lovejoy of
Shumaker,
Williams, P.C.
was bestowed MAMBs
Affiliate of the Year honor in
recognition the his and the company's legal
counsel, education and longtime service to
the association.
The
award ceremonies took place on the first day
of the 2006 MAMB Convention for which nearly
1,500 mortgage professionals and affiliates
were in attendance. MAMB leaders are already
at work planning the 2007 MAMB Annual Convention
