Jason
Fox, vice president at City Line
Mortgage in Bethesda, recently completed
the NAMBs Certified Residential
Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) program.
To help achieve this certification,
Fox attended the Maryland Association
of Mortgage Brokers CMC/CRMS Prep
Course on June 3.
The
CRMS is a three (3) hour computer based
exam and contains 125 multiple-choice
questions that fall within six subject-matter
areas. Each subject-matter area is weighted
to reflect its relative importance to
the practice of a mortgage broker who
has at least two years of industry experience
and specializes in residential mortgage
lending. In addition, there are 30 pre-test
items which do not affect your score
but are being evaluated for future exams.
While
pursuing the CRMS certainly requires
time and commitment, its well
worth it allowing mortgage professionals
to stand out in an increasingly competitive
marketplace, said MAMB Executive
Director Tom Shaner, CAE.
Joining
Fox, Ken Venick recently achieved
the status of a Certified Mortgage Consultant
(CMC). Vetick serves as vice president
at Equity Mortgage Lending in Towson.
The CMC exam is a four (4) hour computer
based exam and contains 200 multiple-choice
questions that fall within six subject-matter
areas. Each subject-matter area is weighted
to reflect its relative importance to
the practice of a mortgage broker who
has at least five (5) years of industry
experience and specializes in residential
mortgage lending. In addition, there
are 30 pretest items which do not affect
your score but are being evaluated for
future exams.
