Eric Gates to Head MAMP

BALTIMORE - Eric Gates, CRMS of Apex Home Loans in Bethesda was elected and installed as the new volunteer president of the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers (MAMP) during ceremonies at Sullivans Steakhouse in Baltimore on March 5. He succeeds Hunter Bloch of Annapolis First Mortgage in Hanover as the leader of the non-profit professional organization.

Gates has been very involved with legislative activities for the association over the past few years.

In addition to Gates, Mike Parsons of Nationwide Home Mortgage in Rockville was elected and installed to serve as president-elect along with Brooks Bosley, CRMS of Washington Mutual in Centreville who will continue to serve as the association's vice president.

Other officers elected were Charles Reid, III of AmTrust Bank in Brooklandville who was elected as secretary and Christine Wagner of SunTrust Mortgage in Arnold who was re-elected as MAMP's treasurer.

Elected to serve two-year terms on the association's board of directors were: Karyn Bullock of 2 Blue Chip Professionals in Owings Mills and Shannon Eubanks of First Equity Title Corporation in Catonsville.

Continuing on the board are: Jim Clements of 1st Financial, Inc., Annapolis; Eric Delgado of Diversified Financial Mortgage, Rockville; Allan Gushue of Bi-Coastal Mortgage Inc., Lutherville; Dawn Holly of First Platinum Mortgage, Marriottsville; Rick Proctor
of Convenant Mortgage & Investment Group, Ocean City; Rick Rall of Navigator Financial Services, Severna Park; Ken Venick of Equity Mortgage Lending, Towson; and Matt Zaborsky of Norbeck Olney Rockville Mortgage, Rockville.

Thomas C. Shaner, CAE and Jenny Smith of The Joseph E. Shaner Co. in Baltimore will continue as MAMP’s executive director and associate executive director, respectively.

The induction of officers took place on the first day of the 2009 MAMP Convention for which mortgage professionals and affiliates from all over Maryland were in attendance. MAMP leaders are already at work planning the 2010 MAMP Annual Convention and Exposition.
