BROKER FORMS PACKAGE
MAMB’s
dynamic compliance product “Maryland
Broker Forms” is now available
for purchase without the requirement to attend
a 2-hour class.
This written product features 5 unique Maryland
forms that can be used for compliance with Maryland
laws specifically applicable to mortgage brokers,
including Broker Agreement, Finance Agreement,
and Maryland Commitment. It also includes a Broker
Law Matrix with both Maryland and federal law
information. This exclusive MAMB product was developed
in cooperation with Marjorie Corwin, long-time
mortgage broker legal advisor with the Baltimore
law firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, et al.
In addition to the model forms, the binder of
information includes copies of Maryland statutes
and regulations specifically applicable to mortgage
brokers.
To enhance the value of the broker forms package,
MAMB has also made arrangement for purchasers
to be able to participate in a one-hour telephone
conference call with Ms. Corwin in which she will
explain proper use of the forms to comply with
the unique Maryland law requirements.
“When
a broker purchases the standard forms,” explained
Heather Waldschmidt, MAMB’s Associate Executive
Director, “they will be given an opportunity
to participate in a pre-scheduled conference call
with Corwin. Only 20 purchasers will be able to
participate in each call, and advance reservations
will be required.”
Waldschmidt added that conference calls will be
arranged based on demand.
“We
previously required attendance in Maryland at
our 2-hour continuing credit approved course in
order to obtain this product,” said Waldschmidt.
“While the MAMB will be happy to arrange
additional 2-hour CE approved courses for this
product, the conference call participation is
a new option, particularly convenient for brokers
located outside of Maryland. We highly recommend
that purchasers take advantage of the opportunity
to spend an hour with Corwin and learn the nuances
of complying with Maryland’s unique legal
requirements.”
The cost for MAMB’s “Maryland Broker
Forms” product remains $195 for members and
$275 for others.
